I'm offering help in writing: essays, articles, grant applications, portfolios, artist statements, biographical statements, reports. I can offer assistance with academic writing, expository writing and general writing.
As an experienced university teacher, I can help you with an undergraduate or postgraduate essay or dissertation. I can work with you as a copy-editor to prepare a piece of submittable work, or I can proofread a completed paper that you are ready to submit.
I can help with all kinds of non-fiction writing, including biographies artist statements, articles, website text and catalogue essays.
I am an experienced grant writer and I can work with you at any stage of the grant-writing process.
Copy Editing
A copy editor works to ensure your writing is fluent, has a good flow and excellent readability, through the selection of appropriate words, good sentence structure, correct spelling and accurate punctuation. I can help with layout, use of headings and subheadings, and implementation of images or graphics. I can also check referencing and correct format. If you are not a native English speaker, copy-editing help may be most suitable for you.
Proofreading
A proofreader takes the final submittable version of the document and checks it for errors in spelling, punctuation and syntax. If you are confident in your writing's flow, structure and formatting, a proofreading service will give your work that final polish.
Generating and Developing Ideas
You have an idea, but you don't know how to get started writing about it. I can help you with that, through live 1:1 chat. I can support you to develop a clear outline or treatment for your writing project. You will emerge with an abstract and a coherent structure-plan.

I am an experienced, dedicated writer and editor who has engaged with all aspects of on-line, digital and print publishing in the fields of humanities and the creative arts for over 16 years. I have extensive experience of working in a strategic capacity across several platforms with a particular skill in copy writing and copy editing. I have published with a major publisher (Bloomsbury Press) with two more forthcoming. I have written for a variety of on-line and off-line publications. I have also worked in newspaper, magazine and book publishing in a variety of capacities and have strong copy-editing and technical publishing skills.
With both Masters and PhD, I am an experienced academic writer. I am an experienced university teacher and dissertation supervisor. Since 2007 I have been supervising undergraduate and postgraduate students in their written work, from essay writing to creating their
final-project catalogue statements.
I'm a full Fellow of the Higher Education Association (FHEA) and hold a PgCert in Teaching for Lifelong Learning.
